STEPHANIE L. HAMILTON
Stephanie L. Hamilton has practiced law in Fresno since 1997. She has more than 20 years of experience litigating cases in the state and federal courts, both as a trial attorney and appellate advocate. Stephanie has comprehensive knowledge of appellate law and procedure, having practiced for more than five years as a senior research attorney to the Presiding Justice of the Fifth District Court of Appeal. While working at the Fifth District, Stephanie gained invaluable insight into appellate advocacy and strategy from the judicial perspective. She also has extensive litigation and appellate experience both in private practice and for the government; from 2006 through 2009 she was an Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuting a broad range of civil cases as well as criminal forfeiture cases for the Eastern District of California.
Stephanie obtained her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California at Davis, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Rhetoric and Communication in 1993 and her JD in 1997. While in law school she was an editor for the U.C. Davis Law Review, a Contributing Editor to the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy, a moot court national semi-finalist and a teaching assistant for first year students in torts, civil procedure and legal research and writing.
